This September will see the third outing of the Southampton Sailing Week Regatta. The three-day event is set to see 60 yachts and 600 sailors take to the seas in a race to win their relevant cup, with the aims to entice everyone regardless of experience- from GB sailors to those who have never set sail on the sea before.
Organisers ReesLeisure are happy to announce the return of the Women’s Cup which will take place on the Tuesday 17th September along with the Technology Cup.
ABP Southampton Director Alastair Welch said: “Our team last year included a mix of complete novices and some experienced sailors and they worked really well together battling the windy weather conditions. The team will be back to face the challenge again this year.”
Nikki Rees, Managing Director for ReesLeisure, said “We are pleased to welcome back the ABP women’s team as we announce the return of the Women’s Cup to the Southampton Sailing Week 2019.
Leading the ReesLeisure yacht in the Women’s Cup last year was an amazing experience and we can’t wait to share that again with ABP and many more all-female teams. Whilst there are 6 different cups to choose from, spaces are limited in each of them so I would recommend getting in touch now before they fill up!”
The Southampton Sailing Week Regatta takes place from Monday 16th September to Wednesday 18th September during the Southampton Boat Show. Each day starts with breakfast and ends with drinks at the 5* Harbour Hotel in Ocean Village, providing the perfect setting for networking and an award ceremony to celebrate the day’s races. Participants can enter as a corporate team of 7-10 or individually, and the 3 days provide the perfect chance for companies to connect with their team and enhance their brand exposure.
